WATER CoRe at Green Week

The 12th edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, will take place from 22 to 25 May 2012 in Brussels. As this year's theme is "Water", WATER CoRe considers the event as an ideal scenario to disseminate the project’s achievements in water scarcity and drought management.

WATER CoRe at Green Week

WATER CoRe project joins this edition’s slogan “EVERY DROP COUNTS - The Water Challenge” by contributing to the event with solutions and good practices in fields such as water demand management, specific management techniques in drought and water scarcity periods, climate change and social participation. WATER CoRe project products -Good Practice Handbook, Survey on Water Scarcity and Droughts in Europe and E-learning module- will be presented on Thursday 24th May at Charlemagne Building during the side-session “Water Information System for Europe (WISE)” within the official program of the Green Week. Moreover, one of the project partners – the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) - will hold a stand during the event that will consist of a focal point of information on the project and in which visitors will have available leaflets, newsletter and CD ROMs/DVDs. Finally, the event “WATER CoRe Meeting on Sustainable Water Management” that will be held on 12-14 June 2012 in Covasna (Romania), has been considered as “satellite event of the Green Week”.

This project is cofinanced by the ERDF and made possible by the INTERREG IVC programme

The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
